Spring Ahead!

Don’t forget to SPRING AHEAD & set your clocks forward 1 hour on Saturday, March 13th.

Lunch, childcare and transportation (for those who need it) will be provided. In order for us to best plan for our day of dialogue and vision, we need to know that you’ll be with us on the 21st. Please respond directly to Sharon Stephenson at sstephenson@woodfordschurch.org or call 774-8243 (please leave message if phone goes to voice mail). Please let Sharon know how many will be attending for lunch and if you need childcare and/or transportation. It will be VERY helpful to our planning to have this information by Monday, March 8, when the planning committee will meet again.

Our prayer list is here to help. If you would like your name added to the prayer list, or if you know someone who should be added, please contact the church office. The following people have indicated they would welcome your prayers.

Then check out the Inquirer’s Class. This 3 session class will help you decide whether membership at Woodfords Church is right for you. The classes will help you get to know one another and our United Church of Christ denomination, explore opportunities to grow your faith and to contribute your time and talents to Woodfords Church , and acquaint you with the history of Woodfords Church. The three sessions will take place in The Parlor on Sundays, March 7, 14, and 21 at 8:45 AM. Then on March 21 you will be invited to join the membership of Woodfords Church at the 10:00 AM worship service. If you have any questions, please contact Carolyn Lambert or Annette Mott. Child care is available in the Nursery beginning at 8:30 AM.

Next Sunday! March 14, 10:00AM Worship. This very special annual worship service will feature music by the Portland String Quartet, Harold Stover, Director of Music, and the Woodfords Chancel Choir. Music by Johann Sebastian Bach will be performed.

This year we are asking the entire church to join in the activities! We will be asking all church members and friends to bring in baked goods to be sold at the fair on March 14th (next Sunday) directly after the church service. If you can’t bake- you can always shop! Come to the Heifer Fair and purchase a yummy treat made by your neighbor; or support Heifer by buying a craft handmade right here at Woodfords’ by our very talented children.

Announcing a Woodfords official play date for parents, caregivers and their children. Greenlight Studios in Portland is a newly opened space for kids and their caregivers to play and explore. We have tentatively reserved space on Monday, March 8th at from 9:30-11am with the hope that more Woodfords families will join us (we need to have a minimum of 10 families to keep the reservation). Are you ready for a night out? Do the kids want a fun night of games, crafts and pizza? Then bring them to the WCC Youth Group's Spring Babysitting night. Funds to benefit our April mission trip to Cherryfield. Date: March 19th. Time: 5-9 Cost: $15 per child, $5 each additional child in family. Reserve your spot now and start making your plans. Yes! It’s almost spring! Join us on Saturday, March 20th, at 7:30am, at Maine Audubon, Gilsland Farm, Route 1, Falmouth. We'll pray, sing and marvel at nature's blessings, knowing Spring is really on its way! We'll be across from the pond, near the rock. The Fellowship Committee invites you to a night at the theater on Saturday, March 27, 8:00pm performance to see the Portland Players production of ‘Barefoot in the Park’. It’s a Neil Simon comedy about two newlyweds living in a tiny, fifth-floor walkup apartment in New York City. Paul is a straight-laced attorney; Corie is a more spontaneous free spirit. The couple contend with lack of heat, a skylight with a gaping hole, several long flights of stairs, an oddball neighbor, and Corie's well-meaning mother as they adjust to married life in the big city. You may meet us at the Church at 6:15pm for refreshments before the show and then we can car pool! Ticket price: $20.00 or $18.00 each for seniors. Friday, March 12 Grant Fund St Patrick’s Day Luncheon. A festive Irish boiled dinner, complete with corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes will be served at 11:30 in Memorial Hall.
